Hope for the Anxious Generation Seminar

Sunday, October 18 -- 1:00 pm - 3:30 pm | Join us at Countryside Christian Church on October 18th for a Christian seminar focusing on adapting Jonathan Haidt’s book, ‘The Anxious Generation’, into a presentation about the effects of technology on our children, and what we can do about it. Credit for the content and adaptation of this seminar go to Steve Otey. Using a play on words, Otey names the presentation "Hope for the Anxious Generation" because he adds Scripture references and theology to Haidt's conclusions, resulting in an optimistic message rather than a pessimistic one. This event will be in the Sanctuary from 1:00 PM - 3:30 PM, and childcare will be provided during the seminar.

This seminar will be led by Christopher Macauley, the youth pastor at Countryside Christian Church. He has firsthand experience of many of the detriments to childhood engagement with modern technology explained by Haidt, and has nearly 7 years of volunteer experience working with youth aged kids.

Admission costs $15 and includes a copy of the book Suppose You Give a Kid a Smartphone.
